Attendance Policy

Regular attendance is mandatory. Dancers are allowed:

  • 2 excused absences from September–December

  • 2 excused absences from January–May

An excused absence must be communicated in advance by a parent or guardian via email to info@omnesartscircle.ca. Absences without email notice will be marked as unexcused.

Pre-planned vacations are considered separately and do not count toward the excused absence limits. However, the studio must be notified as early as possible to allow for adequate planning.

Excessive absences may result in:

  • Removal from choreography

  • reblocking fee

Attendance & Cancellations

Studio Cancellations:
If a class is cancelled by the studio, it will either be:

  • Rescheduled during the season or in June

  • Taught by a substitute teacher

Each dancer is guaranteed a minimum of 30 classes (15 for Junior Tap), including rehearsals. Additional make-ups may not be provided once this minimum is met.

Student Absences & Lateness:

  • Repeated no-shows or absences may result in removal from class (no refund).

  • Students more than 10 minutes late without notice may need to wait to join class at an appropriate time.

  • Frequent lateness may affect participation in performances.

Weather Closures:
If classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, we will:

  • Post updates on FacebookInstagram, and Band

  • Reschedule classes (up to 2 per year, if fewer than 30 total classes are held)

Use your discretion when traveling in poor weather.

Communication

Studio communication is primarily via email. Please ensure your contact information is up to date and checked regularly. Add the following emails to your contact list to prevent missed messages:

  • General inquiries: info@omnesartscircle.ca

  • E-transfer payments: payments@omnesartscircle.ca

  • Taisha (Owner): taisha@omnesartscircle.ca

We also recommend following @omnesartscircle on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.

Band App

All registered families will be invited to join the studio’s private Band group. This is where we share real-time updates, reminders, rehearsal schedules, and announcements. Details on how to join will be sent after registration.

Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates and photos!

Uniform & Costumes

Students are required to purchase appropriate attire for each class and will be assigned a costume for the year-end show.

  • All dance attire must be purchased through the studio or an approved retailer. See our Dress Code for full details.

  • More information on show costumes and fundraising options will be provided during the season.

Costume Budget Guidelines:

  • Recreational classes: up to $150 + HST per class

  • Competitive classes: up to $180 + HST per class

*Important Note: As we’re all aware, the cost of goods has increased significantly due to the increased tariffs. We will continue to source costumes from Canadian companies as much as possible, but even those costs have increased due to the tariffs. We remain committed to keeping costs as low as possible, but ask for your understanding if some costume costs are higher than our suggested budget above. We encourage all families to take advantage of our several fundraisers this year - we’ve added more options to the mix so there’s more variety and more opportunity to fundraise the entire cost of your dancer’s costume(s), which many families do successfully each year.

Performances

All students are welcome to perform in our year-end show, provided their attendance is in good standing. Choreography is taught in class, but additional rehearsals are mandatory.

Show and rehearsal dates will be posted on our website and Band in September.

Show Tickets: $25
(Children 3 and under are free if seated on a guardian’s lap.)

Photo Day

Group and individual photos are available for purchase. Attendance is required for group photos, even if no photos are being purchased.
